How Long Does a Single Wax Melt Burn For?

Our 50g Snap Bars are designed to give an average of around 40 hours of fragrance per bar. Since each bar snaps into individual cubes, you don't need to use the whole thing at once - many customers get several separate burning sessions out of a single bar before the scent fades.

How Do I Know When It's Time to Change It?

Wax melts don't disappear the way a candle burns down - the wax stays in the dish, but the fragrance oils gradually evaporate each time it's heated. You'll know it's time for a fresh piece when:

• You can no longer smell the fragrance once the burner has been on for a few minutes
• The wax has turned noticeably darker or cloudy after repeated use
• You've had multiple burning sessions from the same piece already (a good rule of thumb is 8-10 hours of total burn time per cube, depending on the scent)

Getting the Longest Life From Your Wax Melts

• Don't overheat it - an electric burner on a lower setting, or a smaller tealight, will make the fragrance last longer than blasting it on full heat.
• Turn it off between uses - the wax will happily reharden and can be reheated again later without any loss of quality.
• Store spare bars properly - keep unused Snap Bars in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight, to help preserve the fragrance until you're ready to use them.
• Clean your dish between scents - a quick wipe once the old wax has cooled and hardened helps stop scents blending into one another.

Does Unused Wax Melt Stock Go Off?

Wax melts have a long shelf life if stored well - typically well over a year before you'd notice any real drop in scent strength. Heat and sunlight are the main things that cause fragrance to fade over time, so a cupboard or drawer is always better than a sunny windowsill.
